Tanyelle Richardson

Director of Grant Management

Tanyelle is a distinguished senior program manager and federal grants administration expert with over 30 years of leadership in higher education policy, federal funding oversight, and international education program development. Recognized for strategic vision in grant administration, regulatory compliance, and risk management, with a history of managing multi-billion-dollar federal education programs.

Previously, Tanyelle served as a Senior Program Manager in the Office of Postsecondary Education at the U.S. Department of Education, where she provided programmatic oversight and policy guidance for Title VI and Fulbright-Hays Programs. She led the administration of the Undergraduate International Studies and Foreign Language (UISFL) Program and the Business and International Education (BIE) Program, advancing global education initiatives and institutional partnerships.

In 2022, Tanyelle was detailed to the Higher Education Emergency Relief Fund (HEERF), where she played a pivotal role in supervising the administration of over $75 billion in federal aid to institutions impacted by the COVID-19 pandemic. Her expertise in compliance monitoring, fiscal stewardship, and crisis response ensured the equitable distribution and proper utilization of emergency relief funds. She is a dedicated advocate for educational equity, Tanyelle remains committed to enhancing federal grant processes, fostering global education partnerships, and driving impactful changes in higher education.

Tanyelle’s contributions to global business education earned her the 2025 Advancing International Trade Award from NASBITE International, recognizing her commitment to strengthening cross-border collaboration and international trade education.
